Since its creation in 2001, the International Short Film Festival, a highly awaited event in September, offers a time full of discoveries around audiovisual creation in short format in all its forms (animation, fiction, new images, documentary), meetings, challenges and festive screenings.
Classified as a category 1 event by the CNC (among the 12 most important French festivals in the industry), the International Short Film Festival holds a special place for contemporary forms and innovation.
The event offers an original format with outdoor screenings and an awards list entirely based on audience balloting.
Animated films are given a prominent place, with masterclasses, Best-of screenings from animation schools and the traditional Animation Night, with its 9 hours of films and free breakfast at dawn, attracting almost 1 000 people every year since 2002 to share their enthusiasm for animated films in a highly entertaining atmosphere!
For young audiences, the Children’s Village, organised every year at the Wallers-Arenberg Mining Site by the Education Department of tRencontres Audiovisuelles, offers a weekend of workshops and screenings for the whole family.
Time: September
Place: Lille
